Of Tuscan family origins, he now leaves in Siena country area, on the edge between Val di Chiana e Val d'Orcia, and, besides carrying on his technological activities and innovations, he is dedicated to this blog site and related "Tuscanities".
This blog site and the related projects were originally planned to be a "4 hands" masterpiece. The path that moved Ascanio back from the Global Village to the current little town and farmhouse in Sienashire was envisioned together with who was, and still is while writing this in early February 2012, his love: Eleonora, a young and active architect committed to restoration of historical buildings and farm houses.
With her, Ascanio took a long path, passing trough a few years spent in London, to finally get back to where both wanted to live together: Siena. Most of the free time of the several yeras of the relationship was devoted exploring secret and less secret locations in London and in Siena areas.
As things often come when you less expect them, once the dream of the couple was almost getting fulfilled, Ascanio has been "let free". Many aspects of the life of Ascanio was then questioned and, among other things, this event challenged the existence of the little pile of bits that is this blog site.
During a walk in one mystic place of the Val d'Orcia named "Bosco della Ragnaia", eventually Ascanio found the new spirit of this blog site, and a strong determination to settle in the area. Eleonora has been escorting Ascanio trough the several peculiar locations in the surroundings of Siena as a angelic guide, rediscovering what both wanted to become the daily ever changing background for their life. This blog therefore will be dedicated to document the spirit of these places. Eleonora will be referred as "The Guide" in the posts and, as Ascanio was discovering or rediscovering the places together with her over the past 6 years, he will be revisiting each place again and present them for you in these pages, during the time ahead.
Everything will be presented trough the eyes of a person that, having already Tuscany in the DNA and in childhood memories, he has been rediscovering the power of this land after having spend a half life living everywhere in the world, and finally experiencing a strong calling, shared with a love that, unfortunately, is not with him any more. The tones are expected mellow and romantic, and nostalgic.
